The short version. BuildUp has no accounts and no login. Your city, your best score and your achievements are stored on your own device. We never ask for your name, email address or precise location.
What does leave your device is limited to diagnostics and measurement: crash reports, performance and usage statistics, purchase records, and your IP address as an unavoidable part of any internet connection. Ad measurement only happens if you allow tracking when iOS asks.
This policy explains how Turnaworks (“we”, “us”) handles information in the BuildUp mobile game (“the app”). It applies to the app only, not to any other product or website.
The following is written to your device's own storage and is not transmitted to us:
Deleting the app, or using Settings → Reset progress inside the game, removes this data.
We use third-party software development kits (SDKs) that process data on our behalf or as independent controllers. Each is listed with what it handles and why.
| Service | Data | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Game Center (Apple Inc.) |
Your Game Center player identifier, achievement progress, best score | Showing achievements and leaderboards, and keeping them across your devices. Handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy. |
| Firebase Analytics (Google) |
App usage events (screens opened, games played), device model, OS version, language, country derived from IP address, app instance identifier | Understanding which parts of the game are used, so we know what to improve. |
| Firebase Crashlytics (Google) |
Crash reports and stack traces, device model, OS version, device state at the time of the crash, app instance identifier | Finding and fixing crashes. |
| Firebase Performance (Google) |
Start-up time, screen rendering times, network request timings, device and connection type | Finding what is slow or drains battery. |
| RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) |
Purchase and subscription events, App Store transaction identifiers, an anonymous app user identifier, country, device and OS version | Validating purchases with Apple and unlocking what you bought, including restoring it on a new device. |
| Meta (Facebook) SDK (Meta Platforms) |
App events such as installs and purchases, device identifiers, IP address, and the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking | Measuring whether our advertising works. |
Every service above receives your IP address, because it is part of how any internet connection works. It is used to derive approximate location at country level, to route responses back to you, and to protect against fraud and abuse. We do not use it to determine your precise location and we do not build a location history from it.
If we ask “Allow BuildUp to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites?”, that prompt is Apple's App Tracking Transparency dialog.
You can change your mind at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for money.
Data is shared only with the service providers named above, and only for the purposes named above. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, sharing an advertising identifier for ad measurement may count as “sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising”. Declining the tracking prompt, or turning tracking off in iOS Settings, opts you out of it entirely.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety, or the security of the app.
Our providers operate globally and may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another approved mechanism.
Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in the EU/UK, the KVKK in Türkiye, and the CCPA/CPRA in California — you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to receive a copy of it, and to complain to a supervisory authority. We do not discriminate against you for exercising any of them.
To exercise a right, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. Because the app has no accounts, we may need information from you — such as your device's advertising identifier or a purchase receipt — to locate any data at all.
You can also act directly, without contacting us:
BuildUp is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Data in transit is protected with industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but our providers maintain their own security programmes and we keep the amount of data collected as small as the app can work with.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced in the app or in the App Store release notes.
